Bones
Patience is key, right? But for how long?
I waited
Amongst the crashing blue tides
Amongst the audible silence
Amongst the continuation of time
I waited
Still
I searched
I called out your name
Still
Not an ounce of your flesh came to view
Only your favorite black garment
Washed up from the ocean blue
But still
There was hope
You were out there somewhere
I’m the only one who didn’t give up on you
Pleading through prayer
Through stillness
And my H2O-saturated bones
I waited
As the dark clouds covered the blue sky
I waited
As I sat in a wooden chair
Still
I waited
As the cool air
Whistled straight through me
I waited
Because I knew one day
The endless tide
Would lead me back to your side
The Dialogue
Blame it on the vibes, the wine, or Johnny Gill -- either way, somebody's about to say too much.
My, my, my
Is Mr. Johnny Gill playing?
Cause I’m so damn fine
But you baby……
You know I love your brown skin
This is a cliché, but
God took his time with you
And you know my statement is true
“Why are you lookin’ at me like that?“
Is what you uttered in a mellow tune
I don’t need a mirror in front of me
To know how I’m looking at you
Because I know my body language is saying
“Tonight, you can have every part of me
in every room”
Then you say
“Huh?”
Then I say
“What?”
Then you say
“Repeat what you said.”
Then I say
“Fuck”
Am I a fool?
Not only did my body language do the talking
But my vocal cords said
Make room for two
I’m sorry baby I can’t help it
You know I get in the mood when
I sip on that red intoxicated bliss
“That double XL got you yappin’ like this.”
You said with a smile
“No, sobriety is my state. “
Girl, it’s not good to lie
“Keep it a buck.”
So I say
“I only had a sip, but… Am I out of luck for you know what?”
“Never.” You replied “Right now, you all that I want”
